Directed by Jack Lawrence, written by Nicholas McDonald (who’s also the guy eating the Doritos), with me and Tom Harris as food critics. Much like the last thing we all did together I shoot Tom we worked for a few weeks on filming improvisations then set up a day to shoot it.

I love working with Tom, mainly because he goes along with my awful jokes and turns them into something funny. Jack’s really good at reigning us in when we get too bizarre, he let us film an alternative ending which involved my head in Tom’s lap Brideshead Revisited style having Doritos forced in my mouth. It made me gag because I was laughing so hard.

I took a few photos on set, and I put them up above.

It was our entry for the Doritos King of Ads competition.

Dead Cat

Nearly all of this year I’ve been working on Dead Cat, a no budget romantic comedy feature film written by myself and Stefan. It was produced by Ben Hilton and Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly. We managed to get through the shoot with a lot of love and support by our friends family. We’re currently editing and we hope to have a finished cut of the film in October 2010. Where to go from here?

It’s awful getting your heart broken by a project. But I guess everything ends. In this case moves on to the next stage. Now we’ve finished shooting Dead Cat, I don’t have a great deal more to look forward to. We’ve done writing it, I’m done acting in it, gotta get someone else who knows how to sell it now all I’m doing is admin and VAT returns. Hot shit huh.

I guess I just have to cross my fingers and hope something steps in soon.

In the mean time here is a video from Annalie Wilson who was in “I’ve Done Life” and in “Dead Cat”. She’s been using her flip video hd to record some of her songs from home. This is my favourite.

Paramount Comedy Adverts

Earlier this year I was in two adverts for Paramount Comedy’s website. One was called Dog Hotel, one was called Lisa Kudrow. Almost immediately after they were aired the channel changed their name. Hopefully not because of the adds…

I’ve Done Life – 48 hour film festival

Me and Stef joined up with the good people of Obelisk pictures. To do the 48 hour film festival, it was the first time we’d made a film and written a story that quickly so it was pretty exhausting. We wrote until about 4 in the morning, threw it all out, then improvised it along the regents canal near where I live. It’s quite an odd film.

The people involved in the film were Beth Marlowe who had to keep our improvisations on track, Carolina Vasquez who did sound and edited the final film, Stefan Georgiou who directed and Annalie Wilson who is also in the film (she’s the one without the beard). Annalie also did a sound track which unfortunately we didn’t have time to use.

Apple

Early last year I did the film Apple. Written and directed by Wally McNee produced by Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly. Fodhla, who I’d worked with before on the short film Lemonade, showed me the script and I really wanted to be involved in it as I thought it showed a really interesting relationship. I’d also wanted a chance to work with James Bye again who I’d worked with the year before in ‘The Collection’.

I Shoot Tom

I worked with Jack Laurance and Tom Harris to produce a series of virals for a pitch. Unfortunately it wasn’t successful, but I loved the piece of work we produced so I’m putting it up here.

They were improvisations based on Jacks scripts and set pieces (the car driving etc). Tom was a great actor to work with and Jack was a great director. It was the third time I’d worked with Jack.

Dear Steven Spielberg

Dear Steven Spieberg was me and Stef’s second film. It was much more ambitious then our first (Tiny Dancer) It was shot on 35mm and cost just over 7 thousand to complete. Again it was released by LowFatFilms and you can see how it’s doing on their website.

Jim Giannopoulos the CEO of 20th Centuary Fox called it ‘Insulting’ when he saw it at a film festival in LA. Fortunately he also felt Stefan was a very talented Director.
